Chairs’ Briefing – Autumn Term 2021 (Session 1 – Live Teams Virtual Event)

This session is free of charge for all chairs who purchase the Clerking and Support Service Level Agreement. A cost of £40 will be charged to those schools/academies for chairs of governors/trustees wishing to access the session from governing boards that do not buy into the Clerking and Support Service Level agreement.

The purpose of the session is to prepare chairs for their forthcoming governing board meetings and to equip them with the knowledge, information and advice needed to effectively undertake their role.

The chairs’ briefing sessions aim to:

  • Deepen the understanding of the role of the chair
  • Enhance confidence and skills in managing the role and relationships
  • Share leadership issues and make good use of the skills and knowledge of others
  • Provide information about meeting procedure and regulations

A Q&A function will be available at the live event and an event link will be sent to all those booked on the event by Friday 24 September 2021.

The recording of the live event will be made available via the Governance Gateway by 1 October 2021 and may be viewed anytime within a period of 6 months.

Price per session: Free to those with with a Clerking SLA / £40 to those schools not buying into the service
