Overview of Learning
The accredited Safer Recruitment training provides valuable information on a safe school culture and guidance to strengthen safeguards against employing unsuitable people in school. This session will provide awareness and accreditation against:
- Key features of Safer Recruitment that help deter unsuitable people
- Reviewing their own and their organisations’ policies and practices with a view to making them safer
This session is accredited and an assessment will provided at the end of the session.
NB: As a minimum requirement the Head Teacher, Principal and a named governor or trustee must have completed this training.
Delegates must complete Modules 1 and 2 before attending this session with at least 7 days prior to the session.
Audience:
All governors, trustees, local governors and senior leaders of schools and academies likely to be involved with staff recruitment and selection.

Mrs Sam Tremblen, Senior Schools HR Advisor and Mrs M Foley, Governance Training Officer.
Format:
This course will be held in person at the Bolton Science and Technology Centre. Lunch will be provided at this session.
Pricing and Cancelation
Fees for this session are payable via the school budget and not by individual members of the governing board. This full day session is charged at £250 and is not included as part of the Governance Training and Development SLA.
If you are unable to attend a course, we ask that you please notify the Governance Services Team on 01204 332116 at the earliest opportunity and at least five working days prior to the course date to enable the place to be offered to others.
Cancellation fees will apply for non-attendance or if a place is cancelled by the delegate within five working days of the course date. Delegates that do not attend or provide cancellation within the 5 prior to the date will be charged the full cost of the course. Fees may be waived in exceptional circumstances.
