Overview of Learning

In this interactive session, delegates will look at the Chair’s strategic role in ensuring the effective functioning of the board. This is an ideal course for established Chairs and an excellent succession planning tool for future Chairs. By the end of this session, you will have:

  • Reviewed the role of the Chair
  • Outlined Ofsted’s expectations in relation to Governance.
  • Considered the importance of forming good working relationships
  • Explored strategies which support Governor wellbeing
  • Considered the Senior Leader’s Workload/ Wellbeing
  • Examined how organisation and structure supports effective governance
  • Reflected upon the importance of self-review in improving effectiveness and performance

Audience:

All governors, trustees and local governors of schools and academies, particularly Chairs, Vice-Chairs and those aspiring to take on a chairing role.
