Widening the Governance Lens on Attendance – Pre Recorded

Overview of Learning

This session will provide Governors and Trustees the opportunity to reflect on attendance and its impact on disadvantaged learners. The trainer, Imtiaz Kala, is an experienced Local Authority attendance manager & EWO, who also has experience as a Safeguarding Governor. Delegates will review legislation, Ofsted requirements, KCSIE, and use of attendance data, reflecting on how they can work with their schools when visiting or at governor meetings. Questioning skills will be practiced using the example of Covid and Mental Health. Delegates should have access to their school Attendance Policy and bring to the session to contextualise their learning. (Selina Bayliss from Bolton Children’s services will also be present linking in the local arrangements around attendance.)

Pricing

Fees for this session are payable via the school budget and not by individual members of the governing board. If your governing board has signed up to the Governance Training Service Level Agreement, sessions are free of charge. Governors of governing boards who have not signed up to the Governance Training Service Level Agreement may attend for a fee of £98 per session.
